Habitat for Humanity supported by Safety Engineers

Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte and York County (SC) received personal protective equipment donation through the American Society of Safety Engineers – Tarheel Chapter.

Safety equipment for use by Habitat for Humanity volunteer home ‘builders’ includes work gloves, hard hats, hearing protection, and high visibility vests. These will be used on construction sites where volunteers build and repair homes for the disadvantaged.

The local members of The American Society of Safety Engineers, ASSE, the largest society of occupational safety & health professionals solicited donations from their employers and local safety equipment suppliers.

Our biggest project for 2006 will be partnering with the Charlotte Habitat For Humanity and providing their volunteers with safety glasses, and five (5) families with gift baskets to child proof their home with safety devices at the annual Homeowners Picnic in the Fall.  We are very excited about this initiative to once again give back to the community that supports us.   If you or your company would like to assist us or donate safety glasses, please contact Shanna Caviness.
